Tyler Piano Co. sells clocks ... and we often hear this question: What's the connection between clocks and pianos? Well, for most of our existence, Tyler Piano Co. has been a Baldwin Piano (and organ) dealer. Several decades ago the Baldwin Piano & Organ Company started manufacturing clocks in order to offer another product category for their dealers to sell and to put to good use all the fine woodworking machinery and skilled craftsmen they employed.
Baldwin introduced their new logo and marketing campaign with the words: PIANOS ORGANS CLOCKS. Nearly every Baldwin piano dealer across the nation now carried Baldwin clocks as well as their pianos and organs. Our previous South Broadway location here in Tyler, TX which was built in the early 1980's, displayed this phrase on our storefront.... PIANOS ORGANS CLOCKS.
Eventually the Baldwin Piano Company ceased the manufacturing of clocks, but it had become a very real part of our identity and the identity of many Baldwin dealers around the country. People would still come to our store looking for fine clocks for their home. We made the decision to stay in the clock business and began carrying the fine clocks produced by Howard Miller Clocks.
